Sawgrass Storage, L.L.C. (“Sawgrass”), is a joint venture between Mill Creek Gas Storage, LLC, a subsidiary of Samson, a privately held energy exploration and production company with more than 1,000 employees, and Cypress Creek Gas Storage, LLC, a subsidiary of
AGL Resources Inc., a
large publicly traded corporation (NYSE: GAS) with extensive natural
gas storage and distribution operations. Sawgrass has filed for
certification with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) for the development of a new strategically located underground natural gas storage facility north and west of Monroe, Louisiana.AGL Resources has significant experience in the development, operation, and ownership of gas storage assets. Utilizing this extensive expertise in the development and operation of storage fields, Sawgrass would convert the underground depleted natural gas reservoir into a high-deliverability storage field.
Samson is a privately held independent exploration and production company. The company was established in 1971 and has grown into a large, financially sound, independent energy exploration and production company. Samson is headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and maintains division offices in Houston, Denver, and Midland. Samson operates more than 4,000 wells and has interests in more than 11,000 wells. Samson is currently active in multiple producing regions including Louisiana’s Haynesville Shale.
